Mastectomy in Mallorca, Barcelona and Madrid

A mastectomy is a surgical procedure that involves the removal of the mammary gland, primarily as a treatment for breast cancer. We understand that this is a complex process, both physically and emotionally. Therefore, our approach treats mastectomy as the first step toward reconstruction, offering the most advanced techniques to restore the shape and integrity of the breast, either immediately during the same surgery or at a later date.

When is it recommended?

  • As the primary treatment for different types of breast cancer.
  • In cases where conservative surgery (lumpectomy) is not a viable option due to the size or location of the tumor.
  • As a prophylactic mastectomy, a risk-reducing measure in women with a genetic mutation (e.g., BRCA1/2) that significantly increases the likelihood of developing breast cancer.
  • When cancer recurs in the same breast after previous conservative treatment.
