Gynecomastia is the excessive development of breast tissue in men, resulting in a chest with a feminine appearance. This condition, which can be caused by hormonal or genetic factors, or by the use of certain medications, is more common than many people realize. Gynecomastia surgery corrects this excess volume by removing glandular tissue and/or accumulated fat to restore a flat, firm, and masculine chest contour, significantly improving the patient's self-confidence.

When is it recommended?

  • In men who have an increase in volume in the pectoral area that does not disappear with diet or exercise.
  • When this condition causes discomfort, insecurity, or inhibits the patient when wearing certain clothes or performing activities such as going to the beach.
  • To correct both excess breast gland (glandular gynecomastia) and fat accumulation (pseudogynecomastia).
  • In cases of asymmetry, when one breast is visibly more developed than the other.
  • To eliminate sagging and excess skin in the pectoral area after significant weight loss.
